Sunsets and Daydreams

Happy Friday Everybody!

Today I wore a forever 21 top that has this cute lace trimming on the arms, my black h&m boyfriend blazer, and a pair of Levi Strauss jeans. I've been more drawn to wearing simple designs this week. Solid colored shirts paired with blazers make for an instantly chic outfit.

I fixed up my blog with a new banner. Kevin took this beautiful picture over looking the ocean and the sunset, so I thought it would be a perfect picture for my blog.

My Thrift Finds: #1

A Lunch Box
On my recent trip to the flea market, I found this cute little lunch box. It's denim with brown leather trimmings on the side and the satin lining on the inside has this really cute blue and white tree design. I thought it was the most adorable little bag that I had ever seen. It gives off this vintage look that I couldn't resist. I thought it would be nice to incorporate into some of my looks in the future.
PRICE: $1.00

On the same trip, I found these gorgeous rings. They looked so glamorous and shiny, I immediately steered toward the table where the lady was selling them. I really liked the black and the clear stones. I see myself wearing this to a fancy dinner party or any other occasion where I would need to dress up. This would really be a great addition to a LBD (Little black dress).
Price: $2.00 (For both)

This ring isn't a thrift find, but since I was on the subject of rings, I thought I would just add it to this post. I got this ring at H&M and I just loved it. I wear a lot of neutrals, so this will fit with my clothes perfectly. I've been trying to find a big neutral colored statement ring for the longest time, so I just had to grab this one.
PRICE: Around ~$5.00

I hope you guys liked this little segment of my thrift finds. If you guys thought this was interesting and would like me to continue posting my future finds, please let me know!

It Feels Like Summer

You really can't go wrong with a red jumper and huge round shades. Yesterday was just one of those days where you'd rather sit on your patio drinking lemonade than do anything else.

P.S. Any of you like poetry? My friend Kyle is a great poet.
Check out his blogspot: http://ad-1nfinitum.blogspot.com/

I especially liked his latest poem. There's just this simplicity to his words that I loved.
(Hi Kyle, if you're reading this).

Out and About

Is it Sunday already? Time sure flies. Kevin and I went out to eat today and we stopped by this nice area to take some pictures. First I'll talk about my outfit. I'm wearing another one of my dad's shirts. It's one of his Van Huesen dress shirts that he didn't want anymore for some reason. I gladly took it. I'm just in love with loose fitting clothes that drape rather than tight clothes that I can't move in. I paired it with a pair of Levis and my suede oxfords. I steer more toward Casual/Chic styles.

So when I saw Kevin today I noticed that he was dressed really nice! He had on his Michael Kors Plaid shirt (Have you noticed that I'm a huge fan of MK? lol) and his H&M sweater and a pair of Levis. He looked so cute, I gave him a little photo shoot as well. Despite all of the funny awkward poses he gave me, they turned out well.

And lastly, Kevin went to the Photo Fair yesterday and found these cute little keychain tripods and he got some for the both of us. Matching couple key chains? I know, we're so cheesy, but hey they're mini on- the-go tripods! It's cuteness and convenience all mixed into one.

The Moment

Happy Friday everybody! I just posted up my latest OOTD on Lookbook. It was a very casual look for a very chill school day. I wore my tan shorts with a crochet knit sweater and paired it with tights and my brown boots. Later on in the day, I hung out with Kevin at the park and I snapped a couple of pictures myself. That's him in the second picture. He's wearing the Michael Kors watch that I got him for his birthday. I liked it because it was pretty much the masculine version of my gold Michael Kors watch. It looks even better in person. Hope everybody has a fantastic weekend! Mines will be spent with family and studying.

Awake My Soul

For this look I'm showcasing one of the button ups I found in my dad's closet. He wore some cool outfits back in the 70's and 80's and I'm really lucky because he kept a couple of them. This button up that I'm wearing is from the Guess by Georges Marciano collection. I think it looks really cool and it gives off this funky urban vibe.

Jumpers

Now that the weather is getting more on the chilly side, I've been wearing jumpers/sweaters more often. I was just on the Urban Outfitters website today and caught a glimpse of their new items. I love these jumpers. I love that they give off an effortless slouchy look, BUT yet the models' outfits still look put together. One of the trends this year was the return of crochet, and I was so happy. If there is something that I love more than tailored blazers, it is comfy knit jumpers. I've also seen some really nice cotton jumpers at H&M recently that I might have to get soon. I just thought I would show you guys these 4, because they were my favorite from Urban.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Back to school/work we go! Oh joy.

My Heart Is Yours

It's been raining on and off this entire week, but the weather was beautiful today. I decided to wear my chiffon  button up and throw on a blazer with my favorite accessories. Later on in the day, I went out with Kevin and he bought an amazing snack for us that consisted of a loaf of french bread, fig jam, double cream french brie, and prosciutto. It was so delicious. My boyfriend knows me well. We enjoyed it while watching airplanes fly in spirals in the sky (it's fleet week in the Bay Area). It was really cool to watch.

Have a great weekend everybody.

Music Session: Justin Nozuka

I'm going to share with you guys a song that is very dear to my heart. This song is called Supposed To Grow Old by an artist named Justin Nozuka. It's a song about love and lost, but the beautiful thing about it is that Justin sings it with such raw emotion. You can feel the heartache that he speaks of, and you can somehow relate to every single word whether you have been in a relationship or not. I always find myself listening to this song when I'm alone and in a calm and quiet state of mind. I just like to sit back and listen to every word and feel it with every bone in my body.

Seafood Cravings

The other day Kevin and I had a craving for some seafood, so we stopped by one of our favorite places. Funny thing is, I know where it is, but I never stopped to look at the name. I'll be sure to get the name for you guys if any of you are curious. We got grilled salmon on a bed of cheesy risotto and their classic fish and chips. It was as delicious as the first time we had it. After we finished, our sweettooths were hinting at the crepe and gelato place we were so conveniently sitting near. We ended up getting a strawberry and banana nutella crepe with a scoop of double shot expresso gelato. I savored every bite. It was one of the prettiest and tastiest crepes I ever had.
